Optional drivers
A few connectors need a third-party driver whose licence only you can accept, so Lunar Paper does not include it. You add the driver when you build the image, and the vendor’s installer shows you its licence.
| Driver | Enables | Licence you accept |
|---|---|---|
ibm_db |
IBM Db2 connections in Data Hub | IBM International Program License Agreement |
Enable a driver
Section titled “Enable a driver”Add the OPTIONAL_DRIVERS build argument to the application service. Its
value is a list of packages, separated by spaces:
services: app: build: context: . dockerfile: docker/Dockerfile args: OPTIONAL_DRIVERS: "ibm_db"Then rebuild and start:
docker compose build appdocker compose up -dIf you do not use Docker Compose, pass the same argument to docker build:
docker build --build-arg OPTIONAL_DRIVERS="ibm_db" -f docker/Dockerfile .ibm_db downloads about 80 MB from IBM during the build and prints IBM’s
licence notice, so the build needs internet access.
Check it worked
Section titled “Check it worked”In Data Hub, add a connection and choose IBM Db2. If the driver is installed, you see the connection form. If it is not, the connector tells you that the driver is missing.
Remove a driver
Section titled “Remove a driver”Remove the driver from OPTIONAL_DRIVERS and rebuild the image. Existing Db2
connections stop working, so remove them or point them somewhere else first.
