Troubleshooting & FAQ
The editor is stuck on “Loading project…”
Section titled “The editor is stuck on “Loading project…””Click anywhere inside the editor to wake the audio engine, then wait a few seconds. Audio Studio needs the browser’s audio context to start, and some browsers block audio until you click or press a key on the page.

I cannot hear playback
Section titled “I cannot hear playback”Check these in order:
- Make sure the track is not muted. The M button on the track should not be highlighted.
- Make sure the track volume slider is above zero.
- Check your system and browser volume.
- If you use Bluetooth audio, confirm the device is connected before opening Audio Studio.
My track is not showing in the Mixer
Section titled “My track is not showing in the Mixer”The Mixer shows all tracks that exist in the project. If you just added a track, press Ctrl+S to save and refresh the view. If the panel was already open, click Mixer again to refresh it.
The timeline does not add a section when I double-click
Section titled “The timeline does not add a section when I double-click”Double-click directly on the timeline ruler area where the prompt Double-click to add a section appears. If the prompt is not visible, zoom out until the empty timeline is showing.
Export is missing a track
Section titled “Export is missing a track”The export skips muted tracks, so make sure every track you want to hear is unmuted. Solo mode also silences the other tracks, so turn solo off if you want the full mix.
AI Assistant is not generating audio
Section titled “AI Assistant is not generating audio”Check that the prompt is specific and that you have an internet connection. If the assistant returns an error, try a shorter prompt or refresh the page and re-open the panel.
I deleted a section by accident
Section titled “I deleted a section by accident”Use Ctrl+Z to undo the deletion. If you already saved, open Version History and restore a checkpoint from before the deletion.
Do I need to record the whole part again to fix one note?
Section titled “Do I need to record the whole part again to fix one note?”Double-click the instrument clip, then choose Performance in the modal header. Select the action to change its timing, length, or available expression fields, then Save changes. The performance guide lists the controls for each instrument family.
What happens to a recording when I switch views?
Section titled “What happens to a recording when I switch views?”The unsaved take remains available when switching between Instrument and Performance. An active recording stops before entering Performance. Closing the modal, cancelling, or refreshing without saving discards the draft; switching views does not commit it to the timeline.
A recording or custom sample asks me to relink its source
Section titled “A recording or custom sample asks me to relink its source”Use Relink source audio in Performance and choose the original file, then save again. Older clips may have saved their actions without a source file that can still be opened. Relinking restores the audio source; it cannot reconstruct gestures that were never captured.
Saving a performance reports that the clip changed
Section titled “Saving a performance reports that the clip changed”Another edit changed or removed the clip while its modal was open. Reopen the current clip to review its latest state before applying your change. This prevents an older draft from overwriting another collaborator’s work.
My longer edit still has the old clip length
Section titled “My longer edit still has the old clip length”Performance preserves an existing clip’s timeline length by default. Select Fit clip length to this take in its footer, check Length (beats), then save. The selected action’s length is a separate control.

- Keyboard shortcuts lists the key presses for common actions.
- Version history and publishing covers restoring an earlier state of a project.
