Design Studio troubleshooting

On the version tested, clicking a tool button in the left rail does not switch tools — the highlight stays on whichever tool was already active, and the canvas keeps the old behaviour.

Use the keyboard shortcut instead: V select, R shape, T text, B draw, E vector tools, H hand. Those do switch the active tool, and the rail highlight follows.

Neither route works. Clicking Pen (P) in the rail leaves the previous tool active, as with every tool button, and pressing P activates nothing at all — the previously active tool stays active.

Until it is fixed, build exact outlines by drawing a rectangle with Shape, using Convert to Path in its properties, and moving the anchors with Vector Tools. Pen lists the other substitutes.

Typing into a text element inserts each character before the previous one, so the text reads in reverse.

This is not a typing-speed problem. Pressing A, B, C, D with a pause between each keystroke produces DCBA.

Paste text in rather than typing it, or type it backwards, until this is fixed.

Typing after placing a text box does nothing

Section titled “Typing after placing a text box does nothing”

Placing a text box and typing straight away has no effect, because clicking with the Text tool creates the box without putting you inside it.

The canvas says what to do: double-click to edit. Double-click into the box first, then type.

Read the Brief interpreted line on the final wizard step. It shows the brief as the AI understood it, and it is usually where a request and its result diverge.

Fix the prompt and generate again rather than editing the output by hand. Re-briefing is cheaper than repair.

The generated design is a picture I cannot edit

Section titled “The generated design is a picture I cannot edit”

It should not be. Generate editable design produces real elements — select one and the properties panel fills.

If nothing selects, check you are on the Select tool, V. The hand tool pans without selecting, and it is easy to leave it active.

It says why: no brand kit is configured, and you select a brand in the editor toolbar first. Use Select Brand, then reopen the panel.

If the service has no brand at all, create one.

Resize leaves elements unchanged unless you choose to scale them, and neither option recomposes a design.

A change of aspect ratio needs a redraw. Design the most constrained size first and adapt outward from there.

Check the zoom percentage. A print design opens well below 100% — the example poster opens at 31% — so judge type at full size before changing it.

The Effects panel supplies animated particle effects. They mean nothing in a still export or in print.

Find a tool in the toolbar searches the interface. There are eleven panels, and hunting is slower.

Version History on Shift+H holds earlier states. Open it before experimenting, not after.

Run Check design first. For print work, add a Dieline + Safe element from the Elements panel so the cut line and safe area are visible while you compose, and confirm the format preset you chose was a print one at 300 DPI rather than a screen one at 72.
