Instrument catalogue
The instrument picker opens when you add or edit a clip on the timeline. It holds 24 instruments, a search box, and five tabs — All, Instruments, Creators, Effects, and Import.

Grouped here by how you play them, which matters more in practice than what they are.

Reopen and edit a performance
Section titled “Reopen and edit a performance”All 23 instrument editors have Instrument and Performance views in the modal header. Browse Sounds is the separate import/library entry in the picker. Double-click an instrument clip, choose Performance, and edit its saved actions or source-audio region. Switching views preserves an uncommitted take; closing without saving discards the draft.
Edit recorded performances covers per-instrument editing, expression, append/overdub, saving a copy, and relinking audio.
The woodwind family
Section titled “The woodwind family”Three instruments, two approaches. Woodwind is performed on a ribbon and suits expressive solo lines. Saxophone and Clarinet are written on a staff and suit exact melodies.
The Woodwind instrument replaced the earlier flute with a system built around continuous control — pitch, breath, and slurring all come from how the pointer moves rather than from discrete note events.
Woodwind covers all three.
The percussion family
Section titled “The percussion family”Hand Percussion carries eleven kits: Bongos, Congas, Darbuka, Frame drum, Cajon, Cowbell, Woodblock, Claves, Shaker, Cabasa, and Tambourine. The struck kits respond to where on the head you hit; the shaken ones respond to movement.
Guiro is separate because it is played differently again — dragged rather than struck, with the rasp density set by how fast you move.
Hand Percussion covers both.
Related
Section titled “Related”Editor reference covers the surrounding studio. Work with tracks covers getting an instrument onto the timeline.
