Audio licensing and attribution

Audio Creator uses open-source export libraries, attributed instrument samples, public-domain recordings, and original Lunar Paper ambience. This page explains which notices are informational and which credits must travel with released audio.

You can also open the notice inside Lunar Paper from Settings → Third-party notices or the information button in the Audio Studio toolbar.

Resource Licence What you need to do
Salamander Grand Piano by Alexander Holm CC BY 3.0 Retain the credit when sharing audio that uses these recordings.
tonejs-instruments sample recordings CC BY 3.0 Credit the collection and its original sample authors when sharing audio that uses the recordings.
Versilian Community Sample Library recordings CC0 1.0 No attribution is required. Lunar Paper retains recognition and provenance.
Six BigSoundBank ambient recordings CC0 1.0 No attribution is required. Lunar Paper retains the source IDs and creator names below.

The important distinction is that the tonejs-instruments repository contains MIT-licensed software, but its sample recordings are CC BY 3.0. The software licence does not remove the recording attribution requirement.

Audio Creator automatically adds CREDITS.txt and structured attribution data to stem, sprite, and loop-metadata ZIP exports. Keep that file with the exported package.

Standalone WAV, MP3, and OGG files do not have a companion credits file. If the release uses the CC BY samples above, include this credit in a reasonable place for the medium—for example, release notes, liner notes, a game credits screen, a video description, or an accompanying web page:

Changes: samples may have been selected, pitch-shifted, looped,
mixed, processed, and rendered into the finished audio.

Six bundled ambiences—birds, café, forest, ocean, rain, and wind—were created specifically for Lunar Paper with OpenAI Codex or Anthropic Claude assistance. The exact agent was not retained for each file. They are recorded as user-confirmed first-party audio and require no third-party attribution.

This statement covers the bundled ambient files only. Audio you upload, record, or generate may be subject to separate source or provider terms.

These notices document the audited resources currently bundled with Audio Creator. They are practical product guidance, not legal advice. If you replace or add samples, record the exact source and licence before distributing them.
