Designer toolbar

The toolbar runs the full width of the designer. Controls are listed here in the order they appear.

Back arrow Returns to the dashboards list
Dashboard name Read-only. A dashboard cannot be renamed after creation
Layout badge Shows fit, scroll, or paginated. Read-only — the mode is fixed at creation
Save state Unsaved changes while a change is pending, Saving… while it writes, Save failed with the reason on hover if it does not
Control Shortcut
Undo Ctrl+Z
Redo Ctrl+Y
Copy Ctrl+C
Paste Ctrl+V

Copy and paste duplicate a widget along with its binding and styling.

Control What it does
20px (grid icon) Grid size in pixels, and whether it is drawn as dots or lines. 20px by default
Zoom out / 100% / zoom in Changes what you see, never what is stored
Theme The paper theme — background and default widget styling for the dashboard
Page setup Paginated dashboards only. Page size and margins

Three of these are icons rather than labels. The names below are what their tooltips say.

Control What it opens
Data The data fields panel — every bindable dataset and view in the service, grouped by connection
Filters The filter panel editor, where dashboard-wide filters are configured
Gear icon — Properties The properties panel for the selected widget, including its column mappings
Speech bubble — Comments Comments on the dashboard
Clock icon — Version History Published versions, with the note recorded at each publish
Control What it does
Schedule Opens the delivery schedule wizard. Disabled until the dashboard is published
Preview Shows the dashboard without the editing furniture
Publish Opens the publish dialog — publishing location and an optional version note
View Opens the published dashboard as readers see it. Appears only after publishing

There is no refresh control, because nothing on a dashboard auto-refreshes and reloading the page re-runs every query anyway.

There is no rename, in this toolbar or anywhere else.

Export is in the published view rather than the designer: Export data in the published header downloads the underlying rows.

Arrange the canvas covers the grid, zoom, and multi-select in practice. Publish and version covers the publishing controls.
