Video embeds
Browsers only show an embedded video when Lunar Paper allows the video’s site. An administrator chooses those sites under Administration → Network → Video Embeds. Changes apply as soon as you save, without a restart.
Choose the sites
Section titled “Choose the sites”- Allow YouTube videos covers
www.youtube.comandwww.youtube-nocookie.com. - Allow Vimeo videos covers
player.vimeo.com. - Other sites takes any other video sites, separated by commas, such as
fast.wistia.net, www.loom.com. Each site must use HTTPS. To allow every subdomain of a site, add*.in front, as in*.example.com. You can add up to 50 sites.
YouTube and Vimeo are on until you turn them off. A video from any site that is not allowed shows as blocked.
The setting applies to everything the Lunar Paper server shows, including the Pages and slideshow editors and the public slideshow viewer. Content served by a separate Form Publisher runtime does not show embedded videos.
What allowing a site means
Section titled “What allowing a site means”An embedded video loads straight from the video site in each viewer’s browser, not through the Lunar Paper server. The video site sees the viewer’s IP address and can set its own cookies, and the outbound proxy does not apply. Only allow sites you trust.
If your network blocks outbound traffic, people’s browsers need to reach the sites you allow. See Firewall allowlist.
Turn off all embeds
Section titled “Turn off all embeds”Turning off every site here blocks embedded videos. To also stop other external
iframes, set the Interactive media embeds service to block under
Administration → Network → Proxy Configuration. While it is blocked, no
videos load, whatever you allow on this screen. See
Network proxy administration.
