A colour shows Fail and I do not know what to change

The grade is contrast against white and black, not a judgement of the colour.

A pale tint failing against white is fine as a background and unusable for text. Either darken it until it passes, or keep it and record in a guideline that it is background-only.

Two colours pass individually but look wrong together

Individual grades say nothing about pairs. Open the Contrast matrix, which grades every combination in the brand at once.

Two status colours are indistinguishable for some readers

Use the colour-vision dropdown in Colors. If the two converge under a simulation, the palette is carrying meaning in a channel some readers cannot read, and the fix is a second signal — a shape, an icon, a label — not a different pair of colours.

Read the dialog again: leave the allowed list empty to allow everything, and selecting some makes the rest a violation.

An empty control is inactive, not permissive-by-accident. Name what is allowed.

Strict blocks completely, which is the point, but a rule people cannot comply with gets routed around rather than followed.

Switch it to Warning, see where the warnings land, and fix the underlying gap — usually a missing font or a case the brand never covered — before making it strict again.

Locks take a Template ID and an Element ID, typed in, rather than a picker. Get both from the template itself in Forms or Documents before you open the dialog.

If you took a snapshot, restore it from Version History. If you did not, the Activity Log will tell you what changed and when, but it does not undo anything.

Take a snapshot before the next large change. The dialog lists what it covers: colours, typography, logos, tokens, guidelines, custom branding, and controls.

The custom branding I recorded is not showing up anywhere

By design. The panel states it: those elements are for reference only and are not integrated with other platform modules.

Record them there for the specification; do not expect another module to read them.

The Brand AI assistant says it is not enabled

Section titled “The Brand AI assistant says it is not enabled”

It needs turning on for this module. The panel points at Administration → AI Module Assignments.

Check the fallback stack on the font. It defaults to sans-serif, and that is what a reader sees whenever the real font fails to load.

If the font came from Upload file or Custom URL, confirm the file or URL is reachable from where the reader is, not just from your machine.
