Mood Chords
Double-click empty space on the timeline to open the instrument picker, then choose 🎸 Mood Chords.
Pick a mood, pick a progression, and the chords are written for you. Nothing here needs playing.

Six moods
Section titled “Six moods”Happy, Sad, Tense, Hopeful, Mysterious, and Triumphant.
Each offers three progressions, shown with the actual chords so you can read them before you listen. Happy gives Uplifting (C → G → Am → F), Joyful (G → D → Em → C), and Carefree (F → C → G → Am).
Four settings finish the part
Section titled “Four settings finish the part”| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Instrument | Piano, Guitar, Strings, Brass, Bass |
| Key | All twelve, C through B |
| Tempo | In BPM |
| Preview | Click a chord to hear it on its own |
Clicking individual chords is the useful habit. A progression that works as a whole can still have one chord that clashes with a melody you already have, and hearing them one at a time finds it.
Play auditions the progression; Add to Timeline commits it.
Change the key before the progression
Section titled “Change the key before the progression”When something almost fits, change the key rather than the progression. The three progressions in a mood are close relatives, so a progression in the wrong key usually sounds more wrong than a different progression in the right one.
Related
Section titled “Related”Beat Patterns is the same idea for drums. Piano Roll is where to go when no progression fits.
